Abstract

With the increase in population and corresponding growth in school enrollment in the state of Utah, the need for more adequate educational facilities becomes ever more apparent. New schools will have to be built and older ones enlarged in order to accommodate the increasing enrollment and need. As a natural consequence , additional teachers will be needed to fill the positions made available by the expansion of the present educational facilities. This requirement will be supplemented by the need for maintaining the present level of teaching staff in view of the outflow of teachers from the system, some through retirement, and others to work in industry , continue their education, or leave the state to teach or work elsewhere.
