The Cold War marked a time of concern for, and intense focus on, America’s relationship to nuclear topics. This exhibit—curated by the students of the Spring 2016 HIST 3770—Nuclear West class and overseen by Dr. Victoria Grieve—focuses on issues relating to the Cold War, the atomic bomb, and the influence of nuclear concerns in the West. Using materials from the Special Collections & Archives at Utah State University (USU), this exhibit shows how the events, information, and propaganda related to nuclear topics shaped the culture and attitudes of the American West at this time period. A thorough examination is also made about how these nuclear concerns affected those at USU and Utah specifically.
