Abstract

ln a sunflower field at Florianópolis-SC-BRAZIL (270 331S) insects feeding and/or gathering nectar and/or pollen on sun flower heads were sampled by visual search at four flowering stages and four distinct times of day. The flowering stages were: 4.2 (anthesis in outer quarter of inflorescence complete), 4.3 (anthesis in half inflorescence complete) 4. 4 (anthesis in three quarters of the infloresceuce radius complete) and 4.5 (anthesis complete) and the schedules were at 08:00, 11:00, 14:00 and 17:00 o'clock. The experimental design was completely randomized with 20 replications in 4 x 4 factorial and the experimental plot was three heads.
