Abstract

While at Mountain Lake Biological Station in Virginia, during the summer of 1961, I made the following fragmentary observations at an aggregation of nests of the predaceous sphecid wasp, Cerceris halone Banks, a wasp not commonly encountered, males of the species being unknown and its nesting not heretofore described. A more complete description of Cerceris nesting (involving other species) is given by Linsley and MacSwain (1956) and in certain papers cited by them.
