Welcome to Childhood, Identity, and Coming of Age in Film! This exhibition was created by students in Dr. Mattie Burkert's spring 2017 Studies in Film course at Utah State University. Here they viewed a variety of films from different time periods, genres, and cultures through the lens of childhood and the experience of growing up. A number of topics arose from these films for discussion, including trauma, popularity, class differences, feminism, racism, mental health, etc. This collection examines how the topics in these films affected the characters as they struggled from childhood into adulthood.
