Abstract

Bovine coccidiosis is an economically important disease in the United States. The Agriculture Research Service (1954) reported that the annual loss caused by coccidiosis in cattle in the United States amounts to $10,000,000. Fitzgerald (1963) found in a survey of losses of calves under 1 year of age in the west northcentral and the western United States that approximately $11,000,000 is lost yearly because of mortality and morbidity from coccidiosis.
