Abstract
This thesis is a report of an attempt to protect turkeys against staphylococcal synovitis by means of a vaccine consisting of a twenty-four hour, untreated broth culture of Staphylococcus aureus. The efficacy of the vaccine was challenged by an intravenous injection of the homologous organism and also by exposure to birds infected with the homologous organism.
