Abstract

Mites are the cause of untold damage to agriculture each year. Some of these mites, such as the clover mite, are fairly well known to the general public. They often invade our homes and injure our crops. We find many species of mites in our gardens on vegetables and ornamentals; however, they are often overlooked as the cause of the damage. This is possibly due to the small size of the mites and to the fact that they frequently assume the color of the leaves upon which they are feeding.
