Abstract
Sulfur is one of the required elements for all plants and animals. Does the Greenville soil contain sufficient sulfur for the maximum bacterial activities when it contains only .0068 per cent?(7) It is the object of this paper to present data which has been obtained in trying to answer this question. The Greenville soil is an ideal media in which to study the effect of sulfur on the soil microflora due to the abundance of all the required elements with the exception of sulfur, and its most interesting microflora (6) (7).
