Abstract
The beet leafhopper, Eutettix tenellus (Baker), is undoubtedly the most destructive insect pest of the sugar-beet in the west. It was first noted as a pest of sugar-beets and observed as a vector of curly top disease of the sugar-beet by Ball in 1906. Since then various methods of bringing it under control have been tried but as yet no practical method has been discovered.
