Abstract
Previous studies have shown that the adrenal cortical hormones play an important part in lymphatic tissues physiology. Several authors have demonstrated alterations in blood leukocytes and decreased thymus weight following administration of extracts or purified preparations of adrenal cortical hormones. For this reason the thymus gland weight and lymphocyte response have been used as a method of determining activity of several of the corticoids.
