Abstract

An increase in the number of eosinophilic leukocytes has long been recognized as an integral part of the cellular response of the body to parenterally introduced foreign proteins. Although the function of eosinophils is poorly understood, high eosinophil counts have been associated with the antigen-antibody reactions resulting either directly or indirectly from hypersensitivity.
