General John E. Hyten is Commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, CO. General Hyten is responsible for organizing, equipping, training and maintaining mission-ready space and cyberspace forces and capabilities for U.S. Strategic Command and other combatant commands around the world. General Hyten also oversees Air Force network operations; manages a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and space launch facilities; and is responsible for space system development and acquisition. General Hyten earned a BS in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard University and an MBA from Auburn University. He is also a distinguished graduate of Squadron Officer School and Air Command and Staff College, both at Maxwell AFB, AL.
