An in-class exercise from Water Resource Systems and Management in University of Colorado Boulder. Students are given information about storage trajectories at a reservoir. They are asked to create performance metric calculations that explain which of the management plans is preferred. This is an inductive activity -- students are given this before we talk about the actual set of performance metrics from research and practice. The ideal place for this is to be done before a formal lecture on performance metrics.
