Abstract

The consuming world must look to eight nations for 68 per cent of its supply of sheep and sheep products, as shown by the accompanying chart and table No. 1. Australia leads other nations with 19 per cent, while the United states follows with 8. 7 per cent of the world's sheep population. The nature of the industry confines it to the more sparsely populated regions, and areas ranking high in cheap grazing lands.
