Abstract
Dates are typically a fruit of the subtropical arid regions of the world and are native to the valley of the Euphrates. According to Nixon and Crawford (1936), the earliest records in Iraq (those of the ancient Babylonians and Assyrians) show that their culture was established as early as 3000 B. C.
