Abstract

Various buffer distances have been recommended to mitigate the potential effects of human-generated activities such as oil and gas development on sage-grouse (Centrocercus spp.). The sage-grouse management guideline published in 2000 recommended maintaining a 3 km (1.9 mi) buffer zone between the activity and seasonal sage-grouse habitat.
