Abstract
The impact of meat and poultry recalls on the value of firms by is estimated by analyzing price reactions in financial markets. Then, authors determine what factors drive the magnitude of impact of these recalls using statistical methods. Firm size, firm’s experience managing the recall, media information and recall size are drivers of the economic impact of meat and poultry recalls.
