Abstract
This qualitative study examined how 22 Latino couples in strong marriages talked about their children. We found that the parents talked about what they did for their children, including spending time with them, teaching them, and being an example to them. They also described what their children did for their marriages, including adding vitality to the parents' lives. Parents also said that their children contributed to strong marriages by being "good kids" and not adding challenges to their family lives. Implications for practice are provided.
