Abstract
In August of 2013, the Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS) partnered with Utah State University (USU) Extension to offer the "How to Avoid Falling for a Jerk or Jerkette" program to low-income job seekers each month at nine DWS sites across the state of Utah. USU Extension conducted a series of focus groups program evaluations with program participants wherein the majority of the participants reported having experienced changes in their current relationships and expressed a positive outlook on their future relationships. The focus group feedback clearly suggests that this program is effective in teaching relationship skills to low-income individuals.
