Abstract

This research investigates the uses aqueous based recombinant spider silk proteins as a coatings and an adhesives. By adhering spider silk to different substrates, we can create drug-eluting coatings that are both strong and elastic as well as environmentally friendly adhesives that rival conventional adhesives on the market.
