Description
Our presentation examines patterns of animal-vehicular collisions in northeastern Utah from 2018-2025, focusing on Duchesne, Uintah, and Daggett counties. Using collision data provided by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and snow water equivalent (SWE) data from the USDA, we analyzed the relationship between winter severity and collision frequency through a regression analysis. In addition, a spatial hotspot map was used to identify areas with higher concentrations of collisions across the study area. This study is designed to look for correlations within the data rather than to propose management solutions.
