Abstract

Traditional research on personality has focused on individual personality dimensions such as the Big Five personality traits (Extraversion, Openness, Emotional Stability, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness; REF). Recent studies have looked at personality profiles, which represent specific configurations or "types" of personalities. In this study, the cross-cultural consistency of personality profiles across a range of industrialized and non-industrialized countries was examined using a large existing data set. Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) was used to identify the personality profiles of 16 individual countries.
