Abstract

Reutzel, while on leave from the faculty of Elementary Education at Brigham Young University, taught the first-grade class described in this article. Fawson, who is now on the Education faculty at Central Washington University, assisted Reutzel in this study and succeeded him as first-grade teacher the following school year.
