Abstract
In this video I'll begin teaching you about amine chemistry, including how to generated IUPAC names for simple amines, the pKa (acidity) values of amines, various heterocyclic amine structures, and the following reactions: amine alkylation, acylation, the Gabriel synthesis, formation and reduction of azides, nitriles, nitro compounds, imine, oxime, and enamine chemistry, and amide reduction with lithium aluminum hydride. I also share a beautiful and demoralizing experience about my first cumulative exam in grad school. --Dr. Mike Christiansen from Utah State University
