There is a recent push in the field of education to use "Big Data" to help make decisions about program offerings, organizational effectiveness, and even teaching and learning. What is “Big Data” and what can it provide for us as teachers trying to help our students learn at high levels? Data has always been available in schools, however in recent years Learning Analytics has emerged as potential source of real time, relevant, and applicable data to make future course decisions that could yield results to improve not only course quality but student success.
