Abstract

Greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus, hereafter sage-grouse) was designated as a candidate species in March 2010 by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service(USFWS). The USFWS identified the lack of effective regulatory mechanisms to protect the species across the jurisdictional boundaries and habitat loss as the major range-wide sage-grouse conservation threats.
