Abstract
Since the use of rumensin (monensin) in lactating cows was approved in October 2004, its usage has increased dramatically. The Center for Veterinary Medicine recently (March 2005) released an update that included frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding the proper use of this drug. I think it would be useful for everyone to take a few minutes and read these questions and answers. It may prevent problems or misconceptions between dairy producers and their consultants/nutritionists regarding this product. The web site is:
