Two illustrations from the Melisende Psalter. The Harrowing of Hell (left) shows the resurrected Jesus in hell and pulling out Adam and Eve while King David and other Old Testament figures watch. The three Marys at the tomb (right) shows the three women at Christ's tomb, which is empty.
