Abstract

A novel chaetiacandin sulfate, lecythophorin (l), has been isolated from the hyphomycetous fungus Lxythophora hofmamii. The structure was determined by a combination of chemical and spectroscopic methods. This sulfateis strongly antagonisticto the aspenstaining fungus Ophiostoma crassivagimhm.
