Abstract
In Maine tree seedlings planted on cutover conifer forest sites require release from hardwood sprouts. On some sites where grasses are serious competitors there is an additional need for residual grass control. In order to broaden the calendar suitable for operational forestry treatments, spring applications would be advantageous.
