Abstract
As part of a long term study to determine the foliar accumulation and effects on terrestrial vegetation, of particulate pollutants originating from mining, trembling aspen (Populus tremuloides) and paper birch (Betula papyrifera) were sampled four times during a growing season at 8 and 6 study plots, respectively, in the iron mining region of northeastern Minnesota.
