Abstract
The occurrence of Phellinus (Fomes) igniarius white trunk rot in 45- to 50-year-old trembling aspen stands can be predicted by applying a constant to the stand basal area with P. igniarius rot. Future decay projections can be made by reapplying the basal area of hidden delay for each 6 years projected. This paper describes the methods used to determine the constant and how to use it in the field.
