Abstract
One of the most important processes involved in the efficient utilization of wood is seasoning before installation or final conversion into a finished product. Except in a very few instances, wood is almost invariably dried either naturally as in air drying or artificially as in kiln drying. Even as a preliminary treatment, wood seasoning is important in such processes as wood machining, gluing and laminating, preservative treatment, and fireproofing.
