Abstract
Quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides) is an economically and ecologically valuable tree species that is considered to be in decline across much of the western United States due to fire suppression, severe drought, herbivory, conifer competition, and mortality from disease and insects (Campbell and Bartos 2001).
