Abstract

A device was constructed for photographic registration of behavioural events at entrances of bee nests. A motor-driven pocket camera or an 8 or 16 mm film camera, triggered by a photo-electric sensor was governed by a control unit. An ordinary wrist-watch at the nest entrance gave the time of registration. Specimens were identified on the photos by means of individual markings of enamel paint or plastic tags. The usefulness of the registering equipment and the application of the sensor mechanism is discussed.
