Abstract
Apis cerana indica F., A. dorsata F. and A. florea F. constitute honey bee fauna in Pakistan. A. cerana indica is mainly confined in the hills and foot-hills in the northern areas. A. dorsata is distributed almost throughout the plains, foot-hills and hills ( height). A. florea occurs almost throughout Pakistan except deserts and high hills. The bees visit hundreds of plant species which provide them nectar and pollen in various parts of Pakistan. Bee flora differ at various localities owing to variation in climate, topography and biotic factors. Some information onpollen and nectar plants has been published by Rahman and Singh (1941), Haq et. al. ( 1963) and Shahid and Qayyum (1977) but these authors surveyed a few areas in Punjab and N.W.F.P. On the whole honey bee flora were little known in Pakistan.
