Abstract
The ferrous label capture-recapture system of Dr. N. Gary (University of California, Davis) was modified for use with ground-nesting yellowjackets. A specially constructed box with landing platform placed over the nest forced the workers to walk through an entrance with over- hanging magnets. Limited data showed most workers of Vespula pensylvanica (Saussure) foraged within 2000 feet of the nest and indicated the usefulness of this method to study foraging behavior of yellowjackets.
