Abstract
Three species of Melittobia have so far been reported from Japan (VAN DEN ASSEM & MAHA, 1978). We have discovered a fourth species. The male's courtship behaviour, which is an important diagnostic feature of this species, is briefly described. The male appears to be dimorphic in body size. This might be comparable to similar dimorphism in other species of wasps of which the males are highly aggressive.
