Abstract
Growing highly productive seeds of the cotton plant on elite-seed-rating farma and in the seed plots of the State Farms is one of the basic conditions for obtaining high yeilds of raw cotton. Intravarietal crossing, together with high agricultural engineering and selection, is a powerful factor in the matter of improvement of the varietal characters of the seed. The effectiveness of this method at the present time has been sufficiently well demonstrated by numerous experiements and wide practice.
