Abstract

The usefulness of three quanitative methods (quadrat, quick trap and belt methods) to estimation of Apoidea numbers in various types of natural and artificial habitats was studied. It was shown that the most useful is the belt method depending on counting insects while walking through the area investigated along a belt 1 m wide and at least 200 m long. The speed of walking during observation should amount to about 10 m per minutes.
