Abstract
Parascutacarus __dicus, a new genus and species of the family Scutacaridae, is described from a bumble bee collected at Kanda Ghat, Himachi Pradesh, India, during a PL-480 pollination study. Although nothing is known of its relationship with the bee host, it is reasonable to suppose that it either parasitizes the larvae or lives as a scavenger on the food stored by the bee.
