Abstract
This paper deals with the new subgenus Rugovespula consisting of two species, Vespula koreensis and V. orbata. V. koreensis is considered to consist of three subspecies:-koreensis (nominate ssp.), salebrosa (ssp. nov.), stizoides (comb. nov.); and V. orbata of two subspecies:-orbata (nominate ssp.), arisana.
