Abstract

Celonites abbreviatus Villers 1789 (Hymenoptera: Masaridae) builds tubular brood-cells from soil particles at stones or rocks. These cells consist of half-moon like sectors. After oviposition they are provided with pollen and nectar from underneath. The closed cells are covered with an additional soil layer.
