Abstract
Bees have a highly important role in pollinating both the cultivated and the wild entomophilous plants. The abundance of the bee populations is very much influenced by the feeding-conditions. The presence of sufficient quantity and good quality of food-plants, furthermore, the unbroken feeding-possibilities (Benedek, 1968a) are primary factors among those determining the composition and the extent of the wild bee population. Neverthless, up to the present time flower visiting data have been published only sporadically or the flower visiting of a single or some cultivated plants has been studied in connection with the pollination of same. Only a few publications have appeared dealing with the flower visiting of the species of one or more bee genera of a certain area (e. g. Miyamoto, 1962). These works, however, include only limited data relating Colletidae and Melittidae, wherefore, it seems to be proper to outline the flower visiting habits of the bee species belonging to these families.
