Abstract
Apects of nest defense, female and male territoriality, intra and interspecific aggression, copulating behavior, pheromones and nest aggregation in Nomia melanderi, Halictus rubicundus, Sphecodes sp., Hylaeus cressoni, Anthidium florentinum, Chalicodoma spissula, Anthoph-ora occidentalis, Triepeolus clacotensis, Xeromelecta californica, Pithitis smaragdula, Xylocopa virginica and Colletes thoracicus are discussed, with suggestions for the potential use of pheromones in wild bee management.
