Abstract

Anthophora antiope Bingham nested in loess cliffs near the Beas River, Punjab, in January and February. The shallow nests each had 1-4 cells that were lined with a lipidic secretion with a butyric odor. Provisions were obtained from Eruca, Brassica and lpomoea; Microcerotermes termites destroyed provisions and brood.
