Abstract
It is not well known among students of insect taxonomy and distribution that a reference collection of insects and other arthropods is maintained by the Biology Department of the University of Louisville, Kentucky. Along with the collection at the University of Kentucky at Lexington, this represents the only real concentration of insect specimens from the Bluegrass State. This paper is designed to inform workers that material is available for study from the University of Louisville collection so that Kentucky insect fauna will be better represented in published works on insects. Heretofore Kentucky has often been blank on the distribution maps published by systematists.
