Abstract
The Japanese and Korean Osmiine fauna has been partially investigated and described by Smith (1873), Radoszkowski (1887), Alfken (1903), Cockerell (1911, 1922) and Benoist (1929). But, as indicated on the following pages, the knowledge still remains incomplete, including some synonyms and lack of comprehensive descriptions of both sexes and drawings of more important morphological characters. Because of the necessity for accurate knowledge of the Japanese and Korean Osmia, the authors undertook the revision of the group, using the material which has accumulated since 1930. From the authors' investigation, an exceptionally poor Osmiine fauna is indicated.
