The Biological Engineering Department at USU combines principles of science and engineering to help find solutions in the fields of medicine, law, food, the environment, public health, and more. Students in this program learn to design, build, and test new materials and systems used in biological engineering, studying topics like bioenergy, metabolic engineering, synthetic biophotonics, tissue engineering, biosensing, bionanotechnolgy, etc. The valuable research found in the collection below allows students and others to better understand biological engineering, helping them to progress in the field as they apply this information to current issues.
